Three brothers
Three countries, three fates, three passports
I didn’t choose my mother, my father, my name, my birthday, my birthplace, my skin color, my gender, my nation, or my religion. Nor did I choose the laws that govern me. I was thrown into this world.
Borders don’t just separate countries, cities, villages, or landscapes—they also separate people. Three brothers hold passports from three different countries. The passports of these three brothers reveal nothing about their true identity. The photos in their passports show them as children, when they lived together as a family.
The installation “Three Brothers” highlights the absurdity of the dividing lines created by borders on this earth.
